Huffpo Red in the Face Over Fox News Hoax

This is, without a doubt, the best correction of the week. Okay, the month. Aw, hell, I’ll say it: Best. Correction. Ever. From the Huffington Post:

huffpo gibson scrotum.jpg

Huffpo had posted what appeared to be a video of Fox News’s John Gibson jokingly referring to Attorney General Eric Holder as a monkey with a “bright blue scrotum.” That last bit is a reference to an unrelated news story about a Debrazza monkey that escaped from a zoo in Seattle.

Obviously, likening the first black attorney general to a monkey would be a provocative move at anytime, but it would be particularly inflammatory this week after the New York Post — like Fox News, a unit of News Corp. — incited outrage with a cartoon of a chimpanzee that some read as a racist slap at Barack Obama.

It didn’t happen, though. Huffpo now says the video of Gibson was doctored. By whom is unknown. The phony video has been removed from YouTube.

Valentine’s Day, Codebreaker and $2 Schlitz

You read that correctly……. Saturday night, Valentine’s Night I went to The Loft at The Stable for London Calling with a couple of friends. It was a great party, 2 Rooms, 2 DJ’s, one playing punk/ska, the other playing British Pop, to a mix mash crowd that reminded me of the days of Lo. If you never experienced Lo, you definitely missed out. You could find every walk of life there, there wasn’t a distinct group that was there. You had goths, preps, yuppies, college age, older, it was all over the place. London Calling parties seem to be that same way. The DJ’s had great mixes and they had a band there called Codebreaker from Milwaukee, WI. Codebreaker I think is best described as Daft Punk meets Bootsy Collins. They are electronic with FUNK!
Check out a single of theirs:

Not only did London Calling have great music and a good crowd, they also had $2 Schlitz and $2 Stag and $2 Pabst Blue Ribbon, so it was a very retro night indeed!

All in all an awesome time! I highly recommend checking it out!

Come on in, don’t cost nothing…….

The Irishman Attempts Exercise, Hilarity Ensues!

Ok, so in a fit of brilliance I’ve decided I need to get myself in some sort of besides round……. Part of this is trying out this new workout regime. A buddy of mine sent this to me, I thought I would give it a shot, what is there to lose but my gut, right?

One Hundred Push Ups

Wish me luck and check back on my progress……..

Cardinals out of money???

So today I read this article about the free agents out there, there is a blurb on Looper who has been very servicable with the Cardinals these past years, especially in the rotation.

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9176710/

Well apparently the Cardinals aren’t interested in him for the reason they are out of money. I’m wondering why they are out of money. A little while ago they went on and on how there’s plenty of money freed up and off the books now that Mulder and Edmonds are done. It’s not like they had any major signings this year. There weren’t any high caliber players like Fuentes or Ramirez added to the team. Instead we have Green, who I admit has a lot of upside, but then we have a left handed pitcher for the bullpen that gets killed by left handed batters and a couple of other unmentionables. Granted Ankiel and Ludwick are going to get deservably paid. But we have Duncan for fuck’s sake! The guy that is worse in the outfield than I! I was the kid that was out in right field that paid more attention to planes flying overhead and birds soaring around than the game itself. (I told you I was a born spectator) I just hope Rosenthal is wrong about this. But if he isn’t, then here’s what I have to say to the Cardinals:

My lungs are more important than Polar Bears

So I have Exercise Induced Bronchial Spasms, for this I use a rescue inhaler in case an attack sets in. I was diagnosed with this condition about 20 or so years ago. For that time the inhaler has done it’s trick, usually take it usually 20 minutes before I work out, etc. Well they changed the inhaler propellant to make it “more environmentally friendly” but honestly a cow fart does more damage to the ozone than my inhaler and I think my lungs are a little more important. I noticed the change the first time I used it, the change I noticed was a full on attack setting in. In the past when that happened, I would take the inhaler and it would clear within seconds, now it takes minutes. On top of that, inhalers went from being $10 to some are about $100, depending on your insurance. So now I have to adjust how many puffs I need to take to prevent an attack from happening. So, with all of that, I would like to show my thanks
